Online Game Demons Are Far From Virtual(2 reads) |

The Baltimore-based computer security company that hacked into the sizzling, hot iPhone
and broke the encryption on wireless gas payment cards and car keys
used by millions of drivers is at it again. But this time, analysts
there uncovered serious vulnerabilities in two highly popular fantasy
worlds frequented by hundreds of thousands of online players around the
globe.
Using flaws discovered in the games' coding, Independent
Security Evaluators said it was able to read confidential files on
massive multiplayer online (MMO) games Anarchy Online and its best-selling successor, Age of Conan.
ISE, which will reveal the research today on its Web site
(securityevaluators.com), said it was also able to take control of a
player's computer in the older game.

Crytek's Piracy Crysis(2 reads) |

While software pirates argue that they only download videogames to test
them out and have no interest in legitimately purchasing them, German
developer Crytek, the makers of first-person shooter Crysis,
asserts that they have data to prove otherwise. "The number of users
who downloaded our patches, there were a lot more active players than
there were unit sales. And I think we can safely say if they were still
playing the game by the time our latest patch released, and if they
were playing on a pirated copy, then they were a sale that didn't
happen," Engine Business Manager Harald Seeley told Edge-Online

Sony To Offer Full PSP Games For Download(5 reads) |

Playing copycat to its fat console counterpart, PSP will soon see a few
of its major releases available as a download in addition to a UMD.
Sony announced today that two of its upcoming Japanese games will be
available both through standard retail channels and via digital
download.

Left 4 Dead Delayed(5 reads) |

Left 4 Dead is now coming out on November 20, Gabe Newell told Gamekings.tv in an interview. The zombie first-person shooter was originally set for November 4 date
to go along with the "4" thematic. But its new release date will now
coincide with the 10th anniversary release of Half-Life, Valve's first
game.

Age of Conan, Three Months After Launch(7 reads) |

It's been about three months since Funcom's Age of Conan launched, and
according to product manager Erling Ellingson, the game has around
400,000 active players. At a booth on GC 2008's show floor the company
was showing off some of the upcoming content in the game, including new
dungeons, DirectX10 graphical features, and confirmation that an
expansion pack is in development, though no real details were available.

Silent Hill Homecoming Coming To Steam In September(7 reads) |

Silent Hill Homecoming, the fifth story in Konami's Silent Hill
franchise, will be heading to the PC along with hitting the Playstation
3 and Xbox 360.
The game will be available as a digital download through Steam and is expected to launch in September.
